Work Conduct
-
Patients are our top priority. No patient should be left alone at any time. If you are taking care of a task of lesser importance and a patient is not being attended to, stop what you are doing and spend your time with that patient. Return to finishing the original task when someone else comes to work with the patient.
-
Friendly and appropriate conversation when time allows is not only permitted; it is encouraged. Use conversations to engage the patients instead of keeping it amongst team members.
-
Be curious! Most patients are eager to share their stories with you. Show your interest by asking questions about them. Always remember to keep the conversation positive, paying attention to your word choices and your nonverbal cues such as body language.
-
Since most patients are coming to physical therapy for some injury or ailment that might be causing them some discomfort, it is essential that team members keep a pleasant and positive demeanor. Something as simple a bright smile goes a long way in providing some needed comfort for every patient.
-
As a team member, personal relationships with any patient which also extends beyond the term of a patient’s treatment and your affiliation are prohibited. Professionalism is expected at all times, both inside and outside the facility.
Time Off
-
If you have any time off needs during your affiliation, please let our CCCE, Liz Manko, know and coordinate with your DCE regarding the need for making up that time.
-
You will be a vital part of our team! If you find that you will not be able to make it in, please reach out to your CI and team members as early as possible to alert them. You can find their email addresses on your welcome email.
