Dr. Chris Rago brings multifaceted physical therapy expertise to our skilled Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday team. He is sought after for his extensive knowledge and passion in both orthopedic and sports physical therapy. Dr. Rago’s approach to patient care aligns with NJCPT’s philosophy because he delves into understanding each of his patients needs to provide individualized treatment plans to create, better outcomes. Chris is actively preparing for his Board Certification in Orthopedic Physical Therapy.
Chris graduated Magna Cum Laude from Quinnipiac University with a Bachelor’s in Health Sciences before continuing on to earn his Doctorate of Physical Therapy at Quinnipiac. There, he was selected as the graduate assistant for the motion analysis lab, where he furthered his knowledge of the biomechanical model and its application to physical therapy. Specifically, Chris researched the effects of fatigue on lower extremity biomechanical control in athletes, a project that allowed him to combine and develop his love for sports and physical therapy. He was chosen to present his research at four nationally recognized conferences, including a trip out to San Diego to present at American College of Sports Medicine!
Chris is an avid sports fan, to put it mildly. When he’s not in the clinic, you can usually find him watching a New York Yankees, New York Giants, or a Tottenham Hotspur game. He doesn’t just sit on the sidelines, though! When he’s not watching sports, he’s playing in one of his local soccer or basketball leagues, or playing a round of golf. A nature lover, Chris can also be spotted hiking his favorite part of the Appalachian trail. You can often find him enjoying a book at home with his four dogs and spending time with his family and friends. He’d love to hear your recommendations for a good read!
